Healing hands, happy hearts

Massage therapy is a form of manual therapy that involves manipulating the soft tissues in the body to promote relaxation, alleviate pain and discomfort, improve range of motion, improve circulation, reduce stress and address a wide range of physical and emotional conditions. At Bump, our RMT’s are very experienced and highly trained primary care providers who are focused on supporting your overall health and well-being.

  • Our goal is to take care of you and ensure your well-being through all stages and phases of life. Pregnancy is no exception to that. As your body changes in pregnancy, some muscles become stretched while others compensate and are tensioned. Our prenatal RMT services are designed to provide you with a nurturing and therapeutic experience tailored to you and your stage of pregnancy.

    Benefits of prenatal massage include:

Alleviating discomfort: prenatal massage can help relieve common pregnancy aches and pains including backaches, neck pain and stiffness, leg cramps, headaches, swelling and reduced muscle tension. It can also promote better posture and alignment.

Relaxation: Therapeutic touch is known to reduce stress and anxiety and promote relaxation.

Improved circulation: By enhancing blood flow, prenatal massage helps to reduce edema in the hands, feet and calves and improves overall circulation.

Your RMT will be sure to discuss a detailed medical and obstetric history with you prior to beginning your massage treatments to ensure the techniques used during your session are safe and effective. If there are any changes or updates to your medical or pregnancy history, please update your provider accordingly.

  • Congratulations on the arrival of your precious little one!! Our postpartum massage therapy is specially designed to support and nurture new parents during this transformative phase of life. We understand that there are many physical and emotional changes that come with childbirth, and our experienced RMT’s are here to support you.

Benefits of massage in the 4th trimester include:

Improved healing: postpartum massage can aid in the recovery process by addressing muscle tension, promoting circulation and alleviating discomfort associated with childbirth.

Relieves muscle tension: labour and childbirth can be hard on our bodies. In fact, some suggest it’s the equivalent of running a full marathon! Utilizing registered massage therapy postpartum can target areas of tension providing relief and comfort.

Stress relief: Did you know that touch can release endorphins which can significantly reduce stress levels and promote a sense of calm and well-being?

Supports hormone balance: Massage can aid in balancing hormone levels in the postpartum period.

Restores energy and an overall sense of wellbeing!

We understand that everyone’s postpartum journey is different. Before your session, your RMT will consult with you to understand your specific needs, concerns and preferences for the day’s session. This ensures that your massage treatment is personalized to address your individual needs.
