Janelle completed her Bachelor of Science in Integrative Physiology at Simon Fraser University in 2008. Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, she worked as a Teaching Assistant in the secondary school system, and coached track, volleyball and soccer. In 2014, Janelle completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at University of British Columbia and started her career in public practice where she developed extensive experience in post-surgical rehabilitation, orthopaedics, arthritis, geriatric and general surgery. More recently, Janelle chooses to work both in public and private practice, where her focus is on active rehabilitation by creating and guiding individual and group exercise programs.
As a new mom, Janelle has developed an interest in women's health following her own experiences returning to exercise postpartum. Her recent coursework includes Diane Lee’s “The Abdominal Wall after pregnancy and Diastasis Rectus Abdominus” and is currently completing her training in Rehabilitation Mat & Reformer Pilates through STOTT Pilates.
Janelle firmly believes Pilates helps to improve body awareness, flexibility and strength. She uses a combination of Pilates principles, manual therapy, soft tissue work, traditional exercises and education to help restore optimal levels of functioning and to empower her clients in their daily lives.
On her days off, you may find Janelle hiking, kayaking, playing soccer and spending time with family and friends. She loves to listen to reggae, dance and paint with acrylics.
